Sometimes I'll pick up a Peter Wimsey mystery just to read what he said on page 46, or to read the interaction between his sister-in-law and mother half way through, or to read what Bunter says when he answers the phone. Wonderful dialogue just sends me.
Oh, definitely. Busman's Honeymoon was just full of beautiful sentences and interactions. You could tell it had been a play, for the best possible reasons.
ne last note: I have no use for "deep literary meaning", as defined by critics and scholars. Reading books not for enjoyment but for some other hazy academic reason is something I don't have any interest in doing. (I'm looking at you, James Joyce and Mrs Dalloway.)
